About the Artist

For Caroline Driggs, photography has always been about capturing the essence, and not just the image, of her subject; be it a child, a leaf, a flower or even a silk-screen printing machine. There is art and beauty in the small and the ordinary, as well as the grand and the breathtaking.
Caroline’s vivid color botanical pictures use macro lenses and digital photography to bring out the often overlooked beauty of nature which lies in the details. A raindrop on a blade of grass becomes art, an unassuming daisy growing beside a road turns into a frilly parasol.
English by birth, Caroline has lived in Charlotte for over six years. For twelve years she had a portrait business in the Northeast, where her distinctive black and white photographs were widely exhibited.
“At a time when life seems to be speeding around us and peace and beauty often seem hard to find, I create images which allow a moment to pause, to reflect on the beauty which is actually all around us.”
